The question of religion arises..
- Me: “I’m not religious”.
Inquirer: “So, you don’t believe anything?”
Me: “I ‘believe’ innumerable things—however, this is my top ten..”
I believe..
10:1 I should look no further for ‘miracles’ than that of my own consciousness—my existence—it is a privilege absolutely beyond description.
10:2 I should regard myself as neither superior nor inferior to anything within the Infinite Universe—merely a part of it.
10:3 I should respect everything within the Infinite Universe—avoid needlessly extinguishing life or disturbing natural order within the Infinite Universe—take from it no more than I need.
10:4 The species Homo sapiens—as with all ‘life’ upon this grain of sand on an infinite beach—has a Universal purpose: to arrive, procreate, nurture and depart—The Profound is all around—I should seek no ‘answer’ since there is no ‘question’.
10:5 The longevity of my conscious existence is balanced between random chance and my own actions.
10:6 Every word of every text that exists, has existed or will exist is the product of Human thought.
10:7 I should partake freely from the ever deepening well of Human knowledge and wisdom contained within the written word.
10:8 One moment of remorse is worth more than a lifetime of useless guilt. I should be aware of and reflect upon my innate primatial instincts—nice to nasty.
10:9 I should—as far as practically possible—follow a herbivorous-leaning Paleolithic inspired diet while choosing to utilize self-powered mobility at every opportunity.
10:10 The species Homo sapiens creates its own deities.
